About

Welcome to the heart of Sikh spirituality and community, the Khalsa Jatha British Isles. Established with unwavering devotion and a commitment to preserving the essence of Sikh Gurus, we are a vibrant and dynamic Gurdwara rooted in the rich tradition of Sikh heritage while embracing the multicultural tapestry of the United Kingdom.

The roots of Khalsa Jatha British Isles date back to the early 20th century when Sikh immigrants first settled in the British Isles. Faced with the challenges of a new land, they sought to establish a spiritual sanctuary where they could connect with their faith and culture. In 1908, their dreams culminated in the establishment of this Gurdwara in the heart of London, becoming the first Gurdwara in Europe.

Our Gurdwara

Our Gurdwara, located in the heart of London, stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of Sikh Gurus. It serves as a sanctuary for Sikhs and a welcoming and serene place for all seekers of spirituality and divine knowledge.

Architectural Beauty: Our Gurdwara boasts stunning architectural design, blending traditional Sikh elements with a modern touch. The magnificent golden dome and intricate artwork inside create a serene atmosphere for prayer and reflection.

Darbar Hall: Refurbished to the highest of standards, reflecting the beauty of traditional Sikh court of the King of the Sikhs, the Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji. It is a place to feel safe, special, at peace and imbibe yourself the essence of spirituality.

Langar Hall: Central to our mission is the Langar (community kitchen), where we serve free, nutritious meals to all visitors, symbolising equality, humility, and unity.

Library and Educational Facilities: We have a well-equipped library and educational facilities to nurture the intellectual growth of our community.
